The Far Righteous began upon the return of singer/songwriter Dave Michienzi to his hometown in Methuen, Massachusetts after years of heavy rambling and hard living. Finally tired of hiding behind a pseudonymic caricature of himself, he shed the shell he had painted onto his own skin, reunited with some of his dearest friends, and they began working on their debut release.
Delivered through hard-hitting poetics, swirling in the ambiance of misadventures, The Far Righteous reels you in with consistent layers of sound sitting underneath the enticing and hypnotic guitar workings of Ian Arieta. With Geoff Bergeron taking multiple duties on their debut record, flushing out parts on bass, mandolin, and keyboard, he insistently makes his presence known atop the endlessly impressive tornado of syncopation that is Nick Natale on drums. All of this creates the tracks upon which Dave Michienzi drives his train of unique, melancholic poetry, bouncing off passersby like a drunken philosopher in Times Square on New Year's Eve.
In the 21st century, where every identity is being questioned for its meaning, and every label seems to disregard what it attempts to define, the spirit of Rock N Roll lives on. This is American music made by American men.
