A four-piece from the north west coast of Norway, crossing the lines between rock and roll, americana and indie, with references tracing back to the ‘Golden Age’ from the last half of the sixties and on into the seventies. Formed early 2017, Magnolia Red blends the diverse, but converging backgrounds of guitarists Frank Bjørdal and Roy Fiskerstrand, bassist Eyvinn Solberg and drummer Ronny Blomvik. Playing exclusively original material, centered around strong melodies, tight vocal harmonies and catchy hooks, the unit thrives on variety through a sound described as dynamic, balanced and tight. The band’s first EP, recorded live at Ocean Sound Recordings on the small island Giske in Norway, was released in June 2018.
