Into the Moat was an American mathcore band from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Formed in 2001 by Matthew Gossman, the group initially featured Gossman on guitar, bass, and drums. Their first EP, Means by Which the End Is Justified, released in May 2003 via Lovelost Records, gained national attention when profiled in Alternative Press magazine later that year. This led to a signing with Metal Blade Records and the release of their debut full-length album, The Design, in March 2005. The band completed four national tours during 2004 and 2005. Their second and final album, The Campaign, was released in March 2009. In a 2016 interview, Into the Moat confirmed that they had effectively disbanded.
