Purson was an English psychedelic rock band from London formed in 2011 by Rosalie Cunningham. The group formed after Cunningham disbanded her previous project Ipso Facto and sought to create a sound described as “vaudeville carny psych”. Their debut single “Rocking Horse” was released in 2012, followed by the EP Rocking Horse (2012). The band's debut album The Circle and the Blue Door (2013) received critical acclaim and was voted Best Debut Album of 2013 in the Terrorizer magazine readers poll. They toured with acts including Ghost and Kiss, and performed at festivals including Roadburn. Their second album Desire's Magic Theatre was released in 2016. Purson announced their split in 2017, releasing the farewell single “Chocolate Money” (2017).
