Caramell, a Swedish Eurodance group, was formed in 1997 by singers Katia Löfgren and Malin Sundström alongside producers Jorge Vasconcelo and Juha Myllylä. The group's breakthrough came with their early singles "Om Du Var Min" (1999) and "Efter Plugget" (1999), the latter reaching number 95 in Swedish charts. Their debut album, Gott och Blandat, was also released in 1999 and included the single "Jag Ser På Dig". The group's second album, Supergott (2001), featured hits like "Vad Heter Du?", "Caramelldansen", and "Spelar Ingen Roll". Despite disbanding in 2002, Caramell achieved post-breakup success with a remix of "Caramelldansen" by DJ Speedycake in 2006. The remix became an internet sensation and led to the formation of Caramella Girls in 2008, who continued performing under animated personas.
