Pelemele, a German rock band based in Cologne, was formed in 2001 by five musicians: Paulus Müller, Nino Kann, Andreas Ostricki, Florian Bergmann, and Andreas Niemann. The group initially performed covers of well-known children's songs before transitioning to original compositions. In 2003, they released their self-titled debut album Pelemele, marking the start of a prolific discography that includes notable releases such as FC Pelemele (2005) and Rockwürste (2009). In 2011, they released "Kulturstrolch", the theme song for a cultural project in collaboration with the city of Viersen and the Sparkasse Krefeld. Pelemele has been recognized with several awards, including multiple "Leopold" prizes from the Verband deutscher Musikschulen, WDR3, and the Bundesfamilienministerium for albums like Rockwürste (2009) and Nimm uns mit! (2014).
