Alpha Academy, a German alternative rock group from Göttingen, was formed in 2007. The band began performing live in the same year and released their first EP, The City is Burning, in 2009 on Artist Station Records, followed by an independent tour across Germany. They opened for Tobias Regner and were managed by the booking agency Extratours. Alpha Academy signed with SPV/Steamhammer and in 2010 released their debut album, The Promise of the Light, recorded at Horus Studio in Hannover and produced by Benjamin Schäfer. The first single from this album was "Walls", accompanied by a music video directed by Dennis Hemstedt. Their second and final album, Impossible:Possible, was released on February 24, 2012. Alpha Academy became inactive in 2013.
