Sten Hanson, born on April 15, 1936, in Skålan, Klövsjö, Sweden, was a Swedish musician, sound poet, composer, and artist. In 1968, he became a member of the Fylkingen group, known for their "Text-Sound compositions," a form of sound poetry. Sten Hanson's career began in the early 1960s as an electroacoustic musician, performance artist, and sound poet, working for radio, television, festivals, and concerts. He was one of the pioneers of multimedia art. From 1975 to 1981, he was a member of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM) and served as chairman of the Swedish Composers' Association from 1985 to 1994. His notable albums include Secret Connection: The Musical World of Sten Hanson (1985) and Text-Sounds Gems & Trinkets (2002). He passed away on November 1, 2013, in Stockholm.
