Formed in late 2022 by guitarist/vocalist KaL MichaeL in San Francisco, the OWLiNG was born from a vision: blend slow, doomy groove with cinematic riffs, deeply poetic vocals, and a gritty ’90s edge. After relocating to Hollywood, the band solidified into a powerful duo with drummer Art Quanstrom. Together, they’ve shaped a heavy yet melodic sound that feels far bigger than two people—balancing raw energy with orchestral intent.
Drawing from the spirit of Black Sabbath, but filtered through the alt-metal grit of Faith No More, Melvins, Alice in Chains, and Rage Against the Machine, the OWLiNG delivers a sound that’s riff-driven, darkly atmospheric, and emotionally resonant.
Active in the L.A. scene, releasing their debut album on December 5, 2025, they offer a glimpse into an alternate reality where doom meets the ’90s underground—melodic, heavy, and unexpected.
