Andrés Castillo is a Mexican musician, producer, and DJ with a career spanning over two decades. He first gained prominence as a founding member of the iconic 1990s group Caló, the first Spanish-language rap group to sell millions of albums. A true pioneer in Mexico's urban music scene, he achieved a Gold Record with the hit "Vaquero," now considered a reggaetón classic in the country. His production work includes the successful track "La Colegiala" by Caló featuring Margarita La Diosa de la Cumbia, which has amassed over 24 million streams and 70 million organic views on their channel. As the founder of DCM Records, one of Mexico’s first independent labels, he has been instrumental in collaborating with Warner Music and shaping the industry. Throughout his career, Andrés Castillo has also remixed tracks for major Latin stars, selling over 1.5 million records from these remixes. After a brief hiatus, he returned in 2015 with renewed energy, releasing the EDM track "Febril Deseo," a collaboration with singer Nathalia Milán, which received heavy rotation on Latin American music channels like TELEHIT and RitmoSon. Following a legal dispute with the rest of the Caló members in the 2010s, Andrés Castillo delivered a collection of EDM tracks on his 2019 EP eClectrónico, followed by the old-school hip-hop album Dosmil Veintisiempre in 2023. The following year, he collaborated with the urban artists Bellakath, El Malilla, and El Bogueto on a remix of his seminal classic "Vaquero."
