Red Sands are a melodic heavy metal band formed in Mexico City in 2012 by Daniel Novelo on guitars, Eric Novelo on bass, and Juan Carlos León on piano and keyboards. Their lineup would be complete with the addition of Ángel Asiain on drums, and recently Jonathan Corral on vocals.
The band’s musical style is a combination of memorable melodies with captivating metal riffs and arrangements. Their most notable influences are bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Iced Earth, Deep Purple, Therion, and Opeth, among others.
After ten years of personal growth, musical training and lineup changes, Red Sands are experiencing a period of rebirth; they have played live shows at specialized metal venues in Mexico City, they recorded a live session at Pieza Estudios, and finally produced their first professional studio material.
My Beloved Ghost is the band’s first single and video: a song about love, death, and hope. Recorded at our home studio, and mixed and mastered by Justin Bender at Divergent Studios (Untimely Demise, Into Eternity), it is the beginning of an era of musical releases and exploration of new artistic horizons.
