Antti Yrjö Hammarberg was a Finnish folk and rock singer and composer born on September 14, 1943, in Hämeenlinna. He achieved professional recognition for a musical career characterized by folk, rock, and schlager and for his image as a paheellinen drunken rogue. Hammarberg achieved professional recognition for a career that began as a pub singer and for being one of the first Finnish artists to compose original songs rather than using translations. His recording career began with the debut studio recording Irwinismi (1966) followed by the studio recording Ei Tippa Tapa (1966) which featured the breakthrough song “Ei Tippa Tapa”. Goodman achieved professional recognition for the studio recording St. Pauli ja Reeperbahn (1970) which achieved gold status and the studio recording Las Palmas (1972) which also reached gold status. His discography included the holiday recording Kohta Taas on Joulu (1972) and the studio recording Häirikkö (1976) which reached gold status. The artist achieved professional recognition for collaborating with the lyricist Vexi Salmi and for his composing career being impacted in the mid-1980s by hearing loss in one ear. His recording career included the studio recording Rentun Ruusu (1988) which achieved double platinum status and the posthumous compilation recording Rentun Ruusut (2000) which achieved platinum status. He died on January 14, 1991, in Hamina.
