Rudolf Innig is a German organist born on 7 June 1947 in Coesfeld. He studied organ and piano in Detmold, Cologne, and Paris under notable instructors including Gaston Litaize and Michael Schneider. He served as the director of the Musikschule Coesfeld from 1979 to 2011 and has held teaching positions at international institutions in Japan, Russia, and the United States. His extensive discography includes the complete organ works by Johannes Brahms (1984), Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1994), and Robert Schumann (1996). He received the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik in 1995 and the Echo Klassik in 1999 for his recordings of Feliks Nowowiejski. He completed a 12-volume cycle of the complete organ works by Josef Gabriel Rheinberger in (2005) and released the album Variations on America (2013). Innig became a resident of Bielefeld in 2011 and earned a doctorate in 2022 with a dissertation on Anton Bruckner.
