Kayla Spurlock is a public school music educator by profession and has music degrees (B.M. and M.M) from Eastern Kentucky University and Brigham Young University respectively.
Outside of her full-time job as a public school music teacher, she enjoys writing songs in the CCM genre, and finds that songwriting about her faith in Jesus Christ and good things to come is very fulfilling to her heart.

All of her songs have been played on Sunday Sounds (KSFI 100.3), Sounds of Sunday (many radio stations in the Intermountain West), and BYU-Idaho Radio. She is a current member of SongChasers, based in Nashville, TN, and frequently co-writes with other members. One of her co-writes, "Come as You Are," was featured in official Christian and Gospel playlists on Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music; it was produced by multiple Grammy and GMA Dove Award winner, Seth Mosley.
