Sir Elwoodin Hiljaiset Varit is a band playing “medium beer jazz” founded in 1988 when Juha Lehti and Juha Saaresaho began recording demos at the Myyrmäki youth center. The band released their debut album, Varjoissa vapaan maailman, in 1991. Their first notable success came in 1993 with the single "Viimeisellä rannalla". Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, the band consistently charted, including top albums like Kymmenen tikkua laudalla (1993) and Pyhää kamaa in 1999. The group’s compilation album, Varjoja, varkaita ja vanhoja valokuvia (1998), achieved gold status. A significant loss occurred when bassist Riku Järvinen died in a 2004 accident. New member Puppe Luomanmäki joined, and the band continued to release music, including "Suomineito" in 2006 as a single and the album Aamupäivän Errol Flynn in 2020.
