Marek Norbert Jackowski, born in 1946 in Poland, was a highly influential guitarist, composer, and singer who founded the legendary rock band Maanam. Before achieving national fame with Maanam, he was a member of the groups Vox Gentis and Anawa, contributing to the development of the Polish rock and progressive scenes. As the primary composer for Maanam, he released seminal albums such as Maanam in 1981, O! in 1982, and Nocny Patrol in 1983, while his solo discography included No. 1 from 1994 and Fale Dunaju from 1995. His career was marked by numerous gold and platinum certifications in Poland. It also saw the release of a self-titled posthumous album and various compilations, including the Złota kolekcja series.
