Tsai Chen-nan, born in 1954 in Xingang, Chiayi County, Taiwan, is a Taiwanese actor and singer. Tsai's music career began with his performance in Xingang, Chiayi, invited by the Hsinkang Foundation of Culture and Education to mitigate the effects of widespread gambling. He performed alongside the Cloud Gate Dance Theater led by Lin Hwai-min in 1987. His notable achievements include winning the Golden Melody Award for Best Taiwanese Vocalist and Album of the Year in 1997. In his acting career, Tsai appeared in several films directed by Hou Hsiao-hsien, including A City of Sadness. He won best actor at the Rome Asian Film Festival for his portrayal of a police officer in Tears (2010), and at the Asian Television Awards for his role on She's Family (2017).
