Julie Ann Giroux, born December 12, 1961 in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, is an American composer known for her orchestral, choral, chamber, and concert band works. She graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Music in Performance and composed several works during her college years. After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles and started orchestrating for television and films. In 1997, she shifted her focus to composing for concert bands and orchestras, publishing exclusively with Musica Propria. Notable works include "Cordoba" (for solo piano and band), premiered in five U.S. cities in 2009, and Symphony No. V "Elements," which debuted on June 9, 2018. She has continued to compose, orchestrate, and arrange for various media.
