Born Yuridia Francisca Gaxiola Flores on October 4, 1986 in Hermosillo, Mexico, singer-songwriter Yuridia grew up surrounded by music, with her father strongly encouraging her to sing, to the point of entering her in the casting for the fourth season of the Sunday program La Academia. Along with 17 other candidates, she was chosen to take part in the show, where she soon made a name for herself. During 2005, she showed off her vocal talent with covers of songs by artists such as Julieta Venegas, Shakira and Robbie Williams. However, after four months of competition, she only finished second in the contest, which nevertheless enabled her to win a $1,500,000 prize, a late-model car and a contract with the multinational Sony Music Entertainment. His first album, La Voz de un Ángel, was quickly released and reached No. 1 in Mexico. The five albums that followed confirmed the singer at the top, all reaching No.1 in the Mexican charts, while also achieving Top 10 status in the American charts dedicated to Latin music, from Habla El Corazón in 2006 to 6 in 2015, via Entre Mariposas in 2007, Nada es Color de Rosa in 2009, and Para Mi in 2011. In 2022, seven years after her last album, she released her seventh opus, Pa' Luego Es Tarde, supported by the single "Si No Piensas Cambiar" (no. 72). Two years later, she released the Literal EP, featuring the title track and the single "Felicítalo", which she recorded with the cumbia sonidera group Los Ángeles Azules. In 2025, Yuridia released her eighth studio album Sin Llorar, featuring contributions from Alejandro Fernández, Los Dos Carnales, Eden Muñoz, Los Ángeles Azules and Joss Favela.
