Grip Inc. was an American groove metal band formed in 1993 by Dave Lombardo, known for his work with Slayer. The group initially consisted of Lombardo on drums and percussion, Waldemar Sorychta on guitar, Jason Viebrooks on bass, and Gus Chambers as the vocalist. Their debut album, Power Of Inner Strength, was released in 1995. The band's subsequent albums included Nemesis (1997) and Solidify (1999), both of which received critical acclaim for Lombardo's drumming and the band's progressive sound. In 2004, they released their fourth album, Incorporated. The band faced significant changes with the departure of Viebrooks in 1997, who was replaced by Stuart Carruthers, and later, the tragic death of Gus Chambers on October 13, 2008. Despite these challenges, Grip Inc. continued to release music, including the EP Hostage To Heaven in 2015.
