The Wellingtons

The Wellingtons, an American singing group founded by George Patterson, Ed Wade, and Kirby Johnson, initially recorded for Kapp Records under the name The Lincolns. Their breakthrough came when they were signed by Walt Disney to record "The Ballad of Davy Crockett" for the mini-series Davy Crockett. The Wellingtons also performed the title songs for television programs such as Gilligan’s Island, which became a hit. They appeared regularly on the televised music show Shindig! and provided studio backing vocals for artists like Annette Funicello and Jan and Dean. The group toured with Donald O'Connor, The Supremes, and Stevie Wonder.
