Alien is a Swedish hard rock band formed in 1986 in Gothenburg. The original lineup featured guitarist Tony Borg, vocalist Jim Jidhed, bassist Ken Sandin, keyboardist Jimmy Wandroph, and drummer Toby Tarrach. The ensemble achieved its professional breakthrough in 1988 with the single “Only One Woman”, a cover of a song by the Marbles that reached Number 1 in Sweden and remained at the top for six weeks. That same year, the band released its self-titled debut studio album, Alien, featuring the track “Brave New Love”, which appeared in the film The Blob. After Jidhed departed in late 1988, Peter Sandberg joined as the lead singer for the international version of the debut record. The group issued several albums during the 1990s, including Shiftin' Gear and Crash, before becoming inactive. The band reunited with its original members in 2010, releasing the single “Ready to Fly” and the 2014 album Eternity. Their later discography includes Into the Future and the 2025 release When Yesterday Comes Around.
