Renegade Soundwave, an electronic music group from England, was formed in London in 1986 by Gary Asquith, Carl Bonnie, and Danny Briottet. Their debut single "Kray Twins" was released on the Rhythm King label in 1986. Renegade Soundwave's early records blended elements from the emerging dance scene, hip-hop, dub, sampling, and electro-industrial noise. In 1990, they signed with Mute Records and released their debut album Soundclash, which featured the UK top 40 hit "Probably a Robbery" and the dancefloor favorite "Biting My Nails". The group's subsequent albums included In Dub (1990), Howyoudoin? (1994). Notable singles such as "Space Gladiator" / "The Phantom" (1989) and "Renegade Soundwave" (1994) further solidified their presence in the electronic music scene. In 2003, Layo and Bushwacka remixed "The Phantom". 2005 saw the appearance of a white label entitled Robbery, which featured remixed versions of Renegade Soundwave tunes such as "Ozone Breakdown". After two more albums, Renegade Soundwave disbanded in 1995. The group left behind a legacy of four studio albums and twelve singles. In 2017, Briottet completed work on the soundtrack to the feature film 3 Way Week.
