The Kik is a Dutch beat group from Rotterdam, Tilburg, and Veenendaal, formed in early 2011. The band initially released two English-language singles, "My Eyes Are Still Dry" (2011) and "A Christmas Song for You" (2011), before transitioning to Dutch lyrics. Their debut album Springlevend was released in 2012 and garnered national attention. The Kik's adaptation of The Monkees' song "Pleasant Valley Sunday" was titled "Zevenhuizer Zondag" (2012). In 2012, they became the house band for the Dutch television show De Wereld Draait Door. Their subsequent albums included 2 (2014), Armand & The Kik (2015), Stad en land (2017), Hertaalt! (2017), Jin (2020), and Bal Populaire (2024). They also released the live album Boudewijn de Groot's Voor de overlevenden & Picknick Live (2019).
