Walter Franco, born on January 6, 1945, in São Paulo, Brazil, was a Brazilian singer, guitarist, record producer, and composer. He began his professional musical career in 1971. His debut album, Ou Não (1973), established his presence in the Brazilian avant-garde and experimental rock scenes. Franco's second album, Revolver (1975), reached number 50 on Rolling Stone's list of the Top 100 Brazilian albums. His subsequent album releases include Respire Fundo (1978), Vela Aberta (1980), and the self-titled Walter Franco (1982). In 1998, he contributed to the Rosa Passos album Especial Tom Jobim, and he later released Tutano (2001). Franco died on October 24, 2019, in São Paulo following a stroke.
