Bobby Cole, born Robert Kane Sarnicola on September 8, 1932 in New York City, was an American jazz pianist and vocalist. After serving in the U.S. Army, he returned to New York and formed the Bobby Cole Band, later performing as a trio with bassist Joseph Sanzo and drummer Robert Ferro; the group debuted at the Living Room in 1960. Later that year, the Bobby Cole Trio signed with Columbia Records and released the album New New New, featuring the original track "The Lady's In Love With You". In 1968, he released the single "Mister Bo Jangles" for Concentric Records, which peaked at number 79 on the Billboard Hot 100, narrowly behind Jerry Jeff Walker’s version. In 1967, Bobby Cole released A Point of View on Concentric, an album of original compositions that achieved popularity in New York. He worked as musical arranger for The Judy Garland Show after Mel Tormé’s dismissal and conducted Garland’s 1967 Palace concerts. He died of a heart attack on December 19, 1996, in New York City.
