Wrangler Brutes were an American hardcore punk band formed in 2003 in Los Angeles, California. The group consisted of vocalist Sam McPheeters, drummer Brooks Headley, guitarist Andy Coronado, and bassist Cundo Si Murad. Their initial release was a self-titled cassette, which sold over 1,000 copies within nine months. This success led to the release of a 7" record and their full-length LP Zulu, recorded in May 2004 with producer Steve Albini. The album featured guest vocals from Chris Thomson and Keith Morris. In December 2004, McPheeters left the band at the end of a Japanese tour and was replaced by Dean Spunt for their final US show. The band disbanded shortly after. A limited-run cassette-only version of the ZULU Live "Bootleg" recording was released on January 21, 2017, by 25 Diamonds Label.
