Terraplane, a British rock group from London, was active in the 1980s and composed of vocalist Danny Bowes, guitarist Luke Morley, drummer Harry James, bassist Nick Linden and later second guitarist Rudi Rivière. Their breakthrough came with the single "I Survive" on City Records in 1983. They later signed with Epic Records and released their debut album Black And White in 1985, reaching number 74 on the UK Albums Chart; the single "I Can't Live Without Your Love" peaked at number 78 on the UK singles chart. In 1987, the band released Moving Target, shifting towards a more soulful sound and alienating fans. The group disbanded in 1988, with Bowes, Morley, and James subsequently forming the hard‑rock act Thunder in 1989. Their other releases include the compilations We Survive: The Anthology (2005) and The Singles Collection (2011).
