Grand Island, a Norwegian band formed in Oslo in 2004 with members from Moss, Sørumsand, and Oslo, released their debut album Say No to Sin in August 2006. The album was well-received in Norway and featured the song "Us Annexed", which won best song of 2006 by Musikknyheter. Grand Island was nominated for both the Spellemann Award 2006 and the Alarmprisen 2007 in the category best music video for "Us Annexed", directed by Axel Hennie. Their second album, Boys & Brutes, was released in Spring 2008 and nominated for a Spellemann award for best rock-album. In 2010, they released Songs From Östra Knoll 1:22, which included the single "Angelila" and featured Janove Ottesen from Kaizers Orchestra on guest vocals. The band's fourth album, Della Loved Steve (2013), contained their most streamed song, "Oh, You Know Me Well". The band has performed at SXSW and Eurosonic festivals.
