Necessary Response was an electronic music project created by Daniel Graves in 2000. The project emerged from tracks that did not fit into Graves' other venture, Aesthetic Perfection. Initially shrouded in mystery, Necessary Response gained attention in 2005 through a forum thread on side-line.com, where fans debated the identity of the band members. On March 16, 2007, Necessary Response released their debut album, Blood Spills Not Far From the Wound. In February 2008, they toured the U.S., supporting synthpop act De/Vision. The project ended on April 22, 2009, when Graves announced his focus on Aesthetic Perfection. Their final concert was at the Kinetik Festival in Montreal that same year.
