Eppu Nuotio (born Eija-Riitta Silvennoinen on February 13, 1962) was a Finnish actress, author, and songwriter from Iisalmi. Nuotio graduated from Iisalmi Lukio before studying dance in France and screenwriting in New York City. She began publishing children’s books in 1994 and authored more than twenty titles. In the late 1990s, Nuotio appeared in the television drama series Tuliportaat and Sisaret, the latter of which she co-wrote. Nuotio performed in the character comic series Kesäkerttu and released the adult book Pariasiaa (1999) under the alias Kerttu Ström. Between 2003 and 2008, she published two novel trilogies, including the crime fiction series Pii Marin. Nuotio was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2002. Her musical contributions included song lyrics and the children’s album Oijoijoi: Rapurytmejä ja lauluja pienille jaloille ja suurille sydämille (2007).
