Butterfingers, formed in Brisbane, Queensland in 2001, is an Australian rap‑rock group fronted by Evil Eddie Jacobson. The band emerged when Jacobson booked a solo gig at The Zoo, prompting the assembly of a backing crew that included DJ Olly Thomas, bassist Dave Crane. Their debut single "Everytime" (2003) and the single "I Love Work" (2003) entered the Triple J Hottest 100 at positions 38 and 15. In May 2004, the album Breakfast at Fatboys debuted at Number 15 on the ARIA Albums Chart and earned Triple J Album of the Week recognition; the single "Yo Mama" peaked at Number 17 in the 2004 Hottest 100. A 2005 licensing deal with Festival Mushroom Records produced the single "Figjam (Fuck I’m Good, Just Ask Me)", which reached Number 50 and was nominated for Best Urban Release at the 2005 ARIA Music Awards. The 2006 album The Deeper You Dig… peaked at Number 14, and the single "Get Up Outta the Dirt" earned an APRA award for Most Performed Urban Work in 2007. After a hiatus, the band reformed in 2017, released the single "Big Night Out", toured for the anniversary of Breakfast at Fatboys, and issued the 2020 album Bad News on Bewilderbeats, contributing to the scene.
