Giuseppe Valdengo, born on May 24, 1914, in Turin, Italy, was an Italian opera baritone singer. He studied at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Turin before beginning vocal training with Michele Accorinti. His operatic debut came in 1936 as Sharpless in Madame Butterfly at the Teatro Sperimentale in Alessandria. Valdengo performed at various theaters, including La Scala opera house in Milan and the Metropolitan Opera in New York from 1947 to 1954, with notable roles such as Tonio in Pagliacci. He collaborated with Arturo Toscanini on radio broadcasts of operas like Otello and Falstaff. Valdengo published his autobiography, Ho cantato con Toscanini, in 1962. He retired from the stage in 1966 but continued teaching until his death on October 3, 2007.
