Ben Moody was born on December 27, 1979 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is an American guitarist, songwriter and producer who is considered one of the defining figures of alternative rock and nu metal in the early 2000s. Ben Moody began his first musical activities in the mid-1990s. In 1995, together with Amy Lee, he founded the band Evanescence in Little Rock, which quickly became one of the most successful rock bands in the USA. With Evanescence, Ben Moody created a dark, melodic rock sound that combined elements of alternative rock, gothic rock and nu metal. The band achieved their international breakthrough in 2003 with the album Fallen, which sold over 17 million copies worldwide and reached number one in the charts in several countries, including the USA, Great Britain and Germany. The most successful singles include "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal", both of which reach the top ten in numerous countries. In the same year, Ben Moody leaves the band during a European tour due to artistic differences. After leaving the band, Ben Moody works as a songwriter and producer. In 2005, he founded the project We Are the Fallen together with Jason Miller and David Hodges, which was stylistically similar to Evanescence. In 2010, the album Tear the World Down is released, reaching number 33 in the US Billboard charts. At the same time, Ben Moody writes songs for artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Anastacia, Avril Lavigne, Adam Lambert and Celine Dion. His repertoire includes rock, pop and alternative, and stylistically he moves between melodic hard rock and modern pop songwriting.
