Act of Congress, a singer-songwriter group from Birmingham, Alabama, was formed in 2006 by Chris Griffin and Adam Wright. The band's initial lineup included Tim Carroll on upright bass and Bethany Borg on violin. In 2009, Connie Skellie replaced Borg, solidifying the group’s musical identity. Act of Congress released their debut EP, Love Remains, in 2008, followed by their first full-length album, Declaration, of the same year. The band's unique blend of pop, folk, gospel, and progressive bluegrass gained traction with sold-out performances at venues like WorkPlay Theater. Notable releases include Cover Up (2009), Worth Fighting For (2012), and The Christmas Collection (2016). In 2024, they released The Hymns That Made Us, featuring acoustic arrangements of timeless Christian hymns.
