Mary Dominica Pauley (born October 22, 1980), known professionally as Mieka Pauley, is an American alt rock, folk, and indie pop singer-songwriter from Boston. While attending Harvard University, Pauley performed at coffeehouses and open-mic nights. In 2005, Pauley won the grand prize in the Starbucks Emerging Artist competition. Pauley released the fan-financed album Elijah Drop Your Gun (2007). The song “Devil’s Got My Secret” from that record appeared in the film Peace, Love & Misunderstanding (2012). In 2008, Pauley won the grand prize in Cosmopolitan's StarLaunch and the New York Songwriters Circle Songwriting Competition. She issued the EP From the Mouth of Paris (2009) under the name The Mieka Canon and the fan-funded album The Science of Making Choices (2012). Pauley toured with Citizen Cope and Edwin McCain and appeared on Daytrotter and Mountain Stage.
