Tyler was an Austrian alternative rock band established in 2002. The ensemble was founded by Martin Lukas Hillebrand and Moritz Gaber and was named after the character Tyler Durden from the movie Fight Club. The initial lineup consisted of Hillebrand on vocals and guitar, Gaber on guitar, Adele Raczkövi on bass, and David Leister on drums. Their recording career began with the debut single “What's Wrong” (2004) through the label derfreieraumfürmusik. The track reached professional recognition after receiving airplay on the radio stations FM4 and Ö3 and the television station gotv. Tyler subsequently released the debut studio recording Don't Play (2005), which featured the singles “Hello”, “Separated”, and “Beautiful”. The ensemble reconfigured its lineup in 2005 following the departure of drummer Markus Adamer, who was replaced by Alex Pohn, and the addition of bassist Peter Schönbauer. Gaber left the group in 2006. Their discography included the single “Sister Sunrise” (2010) followed by the studio recording Favourite Sin (2011). Tyler disbanded in 2011 following a final professional performance at the WUK in Vienna.
