Born in Turnhout in 1983, Robin Verheyen began playing saxophone at age 12 and studied in Belgium, the Netherlands, and New York. In 2005, he moved to Paris, then to New York in 2006, collaborating with jazz figures like Roy Hargrove. He co-founded Narcissus and TaxiWars and formed his International Quartet in 2008. His acclaimed albums include Starbound and Trinity. Verheyen has composed chamber music and received commissions from major European festivals. He collaborates regularly with Marc Copland and remains active as a performer, composer, and educator. In 2017, he became artist-in-residence at KMSKA and continues producing cross-genre works.
