Sugar Army was a rock band from Perth, Western Australia, formed in 2005 with Patrick McLaughlin on vocals and guitar, Todd Honey on lead guitar, Jamie Sher on drums, and Ian Berney on bass. The group released their debut EP Where Do You Hide Your Toys in February 2008 through Good Cop Bad Cop, which included the songs "...And Now You're Old Enough, I Think That You Should Know" and "Jigsaw". In March 2009, they released the lead single "Acute" from their debut studio album The Parallels Amongst Ourselves. The single reached number 5 on the AIR Independent Radio Airplay chart and won Best Rock Song at the West Australian Music Industry Awards that year. The album debuted at number 87 on the ARIA charts. Sugar Army's second album, Summertime Heavy, was released in September 2012 following a hiatus due to Berney's departure.
