Auriel Marie Andrew, born in 1947 in Darwin, Australia, was an Australian country music singer from the Northern Territory. She began singing at age four and made her stage debut at the Italian Club in Coober Pedy. In 1971, Andrew released her first album Just for You, becoming one of the earliest Indigenous women to record an album in Australia. Andrew's career included collaborations with notable artists such as Jimmy Little and Chad Morgan, and performances at prestigious venues like the Sydney Opera House. Her 1985 album Mbitjana featured songs like "Brown Skin Baby". Andrew was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 2011 for her service to country music and the Indigenous community. She passed away on January 2, 2017.
