The Age of Rockets, an indie rock band from New York City, was formed in 2003 by frontman Andrew Futral as a solo project while he studied at Purchase College Conservatory of Music. The group's breakthrough came with the release of their debut album The Drive Home in 2005, following Futral's win at the John Lennon Songwriting Contest in 2004. Shortly after, Bess Rogers and Saul Simon-MacWilliams joined the band. Their second album, Hannah, was released in 2008, which featured a larger amount of vocal harmonies and orchestral instrumentation. The Age of Rockets toured extensively in the United States and the UK. The band members were also involved in various side projects such as The Robot Explosion and Ingrid & Andrew with singer Ingrid Michaelson.
