Wesley Dean Carr, known professionally as Wesley Dean, was born on September 14, 1982, in Gawler, South Australia. He is an Australian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who began his musical journey by taking classes at the Johnny Young Talent School and performing at local venues. In 2003, he released his debut EP Rhythm to Fly independently. Carr's breakthrough moment came in 2008 when he won the sixth season of Australian Idol. Following his victory, he signed with Sony Music Australia and released his winner's single "You", which peaked at Number 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart and was certified Gold. His debut studio album The Way The World Looks followed in March 2009, reaching Number 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart and achieving Gold certification. Notable singles from this album include "Feels Like WOAH" and "Love Is An Animal". Carr embarked on national tours supporting his albums and collaborated with artists such as Ian Moss and The Script. In June 2013, he released Roadtrip Confessions under the pseudonym Buffalo Tales, which debuted at Number 83 on the ARIA Album Chart. Australiana followed in 2018.
