The Urban Guerillas, an Australian pub rock band, were formed in Adelaide in 1980 by Ken Stewart, Terry Burgan, and John Martin. The trio moved to Sydney in the early 1980s and gained attention with the single "1984" in 1983. They released the pop-oriented single "She's Probably" in 1984 and the Borrowed Time EP in 1986. Their anthem song "Here Come the Americans" (1987) addressed the Americanization of Australian culture, gaining them national recognition. The band continued to tour extensively and release albums such as Another View (1990) and Nukalyptus Surreptitious (2005). They were also known for their political activism, performing at various rallies and events.
