The Swiss Family Orbison, named after the film adaptation of Johann David Wyss's novel The Swiss Family Robinson and rocker Roy Orbison, formed in Dundee, Scotland, in the mid-1990s around Kit Clark (vocals, keyboards), best known for his time in the band Danny Wilson with his brother Gary Clark. This power pop group with its strong vocal harmonies includes Keith Matheson and Gregory Philip (guitars), Colin Davidson (bass) and Dougie Vipond (drums). In 1998, The Swiss Family Orbison released a self-titled album on the independent Haven Records label, followed by Thick as Pop, confidentially released in 1999, before being reissued in 2008 by Assai Recordings. Reunited in 2016, The Swiss Family Orbison have continued to tour Scotland ever since.
