Ashleigh Mannix, born on January 8, 1988 in Australia, is a singer-songwriter known for her blend of folk and pop influences. She began performing at various concerts and festivals without significant industry recognition until 2008 when she was invited to play at the relaunch of Rolling Stone magazine alongside established artists such as Neil Finn, Powderfinger, and The Living End. After the performance, Mannix played at notable local festivals including Woodford, Peats Ridge, Festival of the Sun, Stonefest, and Narooma Blues and Roots. Her international reach expanded with appearances in France, Spain, Hawaii, and the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan. Following her performance at Fuji Rock, Mannix secured a record deal in Japan with Pony Canyon and Surf Rock International. Her first single from the Japanese album reached number 37 on the Australian charts and peaked at number 2 on Kiss FM in Kobe.
