Count Basic, an Austrian band formed in 1991, was known for their blend of acid jazz and smooth jazz. The group initially consisted of guitarist Peter Legat and vocalists Kelli Sae and Valerie Etienne. After the release of their debut album Life Think It Over in 1995, the band decided to continue with only Kelli Sae as the vocalist. Their breakthrough came with the single "Moving In The Right Direction", released in January 1996, which was followed by the album The Remix Hit Collection in July of the same year. Subsequent albums included Trust Your Instincts (1999), Bigger & Brighter (2002), and First Decade 1994 - 2004, a compilation released in October 2004. Their final studio album, Love & Light, was released in June 2007.
