The Faders, a British female pop rock band, was formed in January 2004 under Polydor Records. The initial lineup included Toy Valentine on bass and keyboards, Cherisse Osei on drums, and Molly Lorenne as the lead vocalist and guitarist. Their debut single "No Sleep Tonight" reached number 13 on the UK Singles Chart in March 2005, followed by their second single "Jump", which peaked at number 21 a few months later. Both singles were included in their debut album Plug In + Play (2005). In April 2006, weeks before the planned release of their third single "Look at Me Now", The Faders parted ways with Polydor Records. The band announced their disbandment on July 6, 2006, citing disagreements over a new recording contract. Despite their short career, The Faders achieved notable success with "No Sleep Tonight" being featured in various media, including the television series Veronica Mars and Grey's Anatomy, as well as films like She's the Man and My Super Ex-Girlfriend. Post-disbandment, Molly Lorenne signed with EMI and released a solo version of "No Sleep Tonight"; Toy Valentine started a new musical project; and Cherisse Osei joined Mika.
