Oakhurst, a bluegrass-rock band from Denver, Colorado, was founded in 1999 by bassist Johnny James Qualley and singer Adam Patrick Hill. The group was a full-time national touring band in 2004. Their debut album Loose & Prosperous was released in 2001, followed by Greenhorn in 2004, which included notable tracks like "Leslie's", "Give", and "Sweet Carolina". The band gained significant recognition with their 2005 release Dual Mono, featuring songs such as "Gypsies at JR's" and "Moonshine Still". Oakhurst won the Best Bluegrass Band in Colorado award from Denver Westword magazine on June 28, 2007. Their subsequent albums included Jump in the Get Down (2008) and Barrel (2012), produced by Joe Pisapia in Nashville, Tennessee. The band is known for blending traditional bluegrass with rock & roll and a dynamic rhythmic style.
