Dean Grant (Amsterdam, 1973) is a composer, singer, pianist, writer and producer.
Grant discovered France and its musical culture through the eyes of a young man in his early twenties. Living in the nearness of Avignon, he became a private student of Gaston, one of the last singers of Les Compagnons de la chanson.
While still being in his twenties he had already met a significant number of influencers. In this process he learned from the best like producer Mick Lanaro (Patrick Bruel, Johnny Hallyday and Gilbert Bécaud), arranger Bernard Arcadio (Henri Salvador, Charles Aznavour), conductor Michel Cassez (Claude François), producer and arranger Jean-Yves d’Angelo (Julien Clerc, Patrick Bruel) auteur Pierre Grillet (Alain Souchon, Alain Bashung), auteur Pierre Grosz (Dalida, Sacha Distel) and his private jazz piano teacher Christian Mornet.
Having collaborated for numerous artists, he is now returning to his own music as a performer himself.
In a convergence of vocal jazz and his passion for technique, he is currently working on a remarkable album entitled «Echoes From Yesterday» on which he pays tribute to the musicians who shaped his youth and early years.
Spring of 2022 marks the release of a series of duets from this album with leading French singers of the 50s and 60s, such as Gilbert Bécaud, Henri Salvador and Sacha Distel.
