Spo Dee O Dee, a Rockabilly and Rock 'n' Roll band from Braunschweig and Berlin, Germany, was founded in 1992 by lead singer and songwriter Andreas Wernicke. The group initially started as a classic Rockabilly trio with Wernicke on lead vocals and Kontrabass, Michael Wönne on drums and lead vocals, and Hans-Joachim Merchel on guitar. Their first release was the single "Heatwave" in 1993. After several lineup changes, Spo Dee O Dee released their debut album High Voltage in 1994. The band toured extensively across Europe and the USA, releasing notable albums such as Gotta Have It (1997) and Nite-Out in Coolsville (1999). The band collaborated with notable artists like Wanda Jackson and Hayden Thompson. Their album Drinkin' Wine was released in 2014 on Sleazy Records.
